She has practiced obstetrics and gynecology in North Carolina and joined Academy Women’s Healthcare in July 2012. Dr. Asbee considers it an honor to care for women through all phases of life, adolescence through menopause.
Dr. Asbee completed her undergraduate work at The University of Iowa (1999) and her medical degree at The University of Iowa Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine (2004).
She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC (2008).
She is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Asbee enjoys using her God-given talents and abilities to provide quality care to women.
She feels blessed to be able to empower women at all stages of life to optimize their health and overall well-being.
Dr. Asbee is particularly skilled at preventive care, minimally invasive surgery, adolescent gynecology, and general obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Asbee enjoys being with her husband and daughter. They like to spend time hiking and camping with their two black labs, Gym and Josie.
Dr. Asbee is very passionate about fitness and enjoys volleyball, basketball, running, and adventure races. Dr. Asbee also prioritizes Bible study, involvement in her church, and involvement in the community.
He joined Academy Women’s Healthcare Associates in 2002 and feels blessed to have the additional ability to serve those in the Spanish-speaking community.
Through a college basketball scholarship, Dr. Baiza attended The university of Incarnate Word. He graduated Texas A&M Med School (1994) and went on to be an assistant professor at Texas A&M Health Science Center (1998-2002). He was APGO-Texas Med School teacher of the year in 2002.
Dr. Baiza knew he wanted to practice medicine when he was just 10 years old. He says it is a blessing from the Lord and an honor to care for patients.
He understands the trust women place in him during some of the most special and challenging times of life–from pregnancy and childbirth to menopause and gynecological surgeries.
He wants every patient to feel assured that they are given the best care available and that he will take the time to listen to them.
Dr. Baiza is most proud of his marriage (since 1992) and school-age children, Reagan and Lauren.
His main interests are Bible study, laughing and dining with friends and family, and playing sports of all kinds, especially basketball, skiing, and golf.
He attends Grace Bible Church and serves actively in the teaching ministry.
Dr. Cassidy joined Academy Women’s Healthcare Associates in March 2002 after leaving the United States Air Force where she was serving at the USAFA hospital’s obstetrics and gynecology clinic.
Dr. Cassidy was born and raised in northeastern Ohio. She graduated from Cedarville College (1988) and from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine (1993).
She completed her obstetrics and gynecology internship and residency at Lackland Air Force Base in 1997.
Dr. Cassidy strives to give each patient excellent care. In all that she does as a doctor, she seeks to show Christ’s love and compassion to every patient.
Dr. Cassidy, who is married with two sons, has varied interests in serving others and pursing outdoor activities. She is a member of Pulpit Rock Church, participating in the children’s ministry there.
She also volunteers through Life Network and teaches high school students through their ‘Education for a Lifetime Program.’
Her favorite outdoor pursuits are cycling and outdoor landscaping.
Dr. Cassidy has a special interest in Ecuador and has gone there twice for short-term medical mission work.
Dr. Genrich feels fortunate to be back in his hometown and blessed to have the opportunity to practice Obstetrics and Gynecology at Academy Women’s Healthcare.
Raised in Colorado Springs, Dr. Genrich grew up in District 20 and remembers a time when there was no Briargate or Chapel Hills Mall. “This town has changed so much – what a wonderful time to return and help care for its growing community.”
Dr. Genrich graduated from the University of Denver with a degree in Mass Communications in 1992. He pursued a career in corporate public relations in Boston where he also received a Master of Arts degree in Business Communications from Emerson College.
After several years in “the business world” including a position as Executive Director for the Pikes Peak Region of the American Heart Association, and serving as Vice President of Corporate Development for the Pikes Peak United Way, Dr. Genrich felt called to medicine and changed career paths.
Dr. Genrich was awarded the Health Professions Scholarship for the Air Force and completed his medical degree at Drexel University College of Medicine in 2004.
He went on to complete his obstetrics and gynecology residency in the U.S. Air Force at Wright Patterson Medical Center/Wright State University in Dayton, OH where he was the Administrative Chief resident and recognized for his teaching and research endeavors.
He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow in the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecologists.
I feel strongly that God had a plan for me (and my family) all along – I just wasn’t listening closely enough. I know that being back in Colorado Springs and doing what I love, is where we are supposed to be.”
Dr. Genrich has extensive training in obstetrics, minimally invasive surgery, pelvic pain management, as well as adolescent and menopausal gynecologic care.
Dr. Genrich feels blessed to have married his High School sweetheart, Lori (Clark) Genrich who is a speech and language pathologist. They have three beautiful children – Madeline, Emma and Tyler who all enjoy various sports, travel and the gift of growing in their faith every day.
Dr. Robin Mills feels blessed to care for women during some of the most pivotal points of their lives.
Dr. Robin Mills grew up in Northwest Ohio. She practiced in Fort Collins, Colorado for two years before returning to the midwest where she practiced for several years in Indiana.
She returned to Colorado to join Academy Women’s Healthcare Associates in July, 2014.
Dr. Mills completed her udergraduates work at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan (1996) and her medical degree at The Ohio State University of Medicine (2000). She remained at the Ohio State University Medical Center to complete her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Mills enjoys all aspects of obstetrics and gynecology, from office based work, to routine and high risk obstetrics and gynecology surgery.
She believes in taking care of the whole patient and that a woman’s physical, spiritual, and emotional health are closely connected.
Dr. Mills enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two sons. Together, they frequently go hiking, backpacking, skiing, and snowboarding.
Dr. Larry O’Connell, who grew up in the Seattle area, has been with Academy Women’s Healthcare Associates since 1998.
He has brought a great mix of clinical and surgical experience to AWHA and serves as an instructor for laparoscopic hysterectomy techniques.
Dr. O’Connell completed his undergraduate work at Washington State University (1983) and his medical degree at University of Nebraska College of Medicine (1993, magna cum laude), where he was co-valedictorian.
He served his obstetrics and gynecology residency in the U.S. Air Force, Keesler Air Force Base.
With few exceptions, pregnancy and birth are happy times for each patient.
Dr. O’Connell enjoys playing a part in this memorable occasion in the patient’s life and interacting with the family.
He is experienced in caring for women of every age, from teens through menopause. He values establishing long-term patient and family relationships.
He and his family—wife Beverly and children Colt, Hannah, and Luke, enjoy outdoor life in Colorado: fly-fishing, hiking, camping, skiing, and horseback riding.
Dr. O’Connell has made a long-term commitment to missions for orphans and widowed moms in Uganda, east Africa.
Dr. David Stark is a native of Illinois. He practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Olathe, Kansas, prior to joining Academy Women’s Healthcare Associates in 1993.
Dr. Stark attended the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago 1987.
He completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City 1991.
He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Stark is concerned with helping patients with their gynecological and obstetric issues and health, and if they experience problems or disorders. Because of his expertise in laparoscopic hysterectomies, he is able to provide minimally invasive surgical options for those in need.
His patients regularly comment that he is warm and understanding.
Dr. Stark strives to really listen and hear what each patient has to say. His goal is to foster trust and help each patient have a positive experience as he cares for them.
Dr. Stark is married with four children.
Dr. Weary was raised in Houston, Texas, and has been with Academy Women’s Healthcare Associates since he concluded his residency in 1996.
Dr. Weary graduated from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston (1992). He completed his obstetrics and gynecology residency at the Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas (1996).
He is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Weary strives to earn each patient’s trust and confidence, serving her as if she were a family member.
He cherishes the honor of walking alongside patients and their families during pregnancies and joyful deliveries, and also offers a compassionate servant’s heart through the hard times of pregnancy loss.
Because of his professional interest in laparoscopic hysterectomy, he is pleased to offer new minimally invasive surgical options to patients.
Dr. Weary and his wife are the proud parents of two sets of twins—one daughter and three sons.
They enjoy spending time with family, small group involvement through their home church of Woodmen Valley Chapel, and entrepreneurial business projects that offer new services to our community.
Amy Quist joined Academy Women’s Healthcare Associates in 2006.
She was born and raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and graduated with a BSN in nursing from University of Akron, Ohio (1982). She received her MSN in Medical Surgical Nursing (1989).
Amy was certified through Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Program (1991) and was a nurse through her career in the Air Force (1982–1999).
Amy concentrates on preventative healthcare throughout the challenges of puberty, menstrual health, family planning, sexual health, prenatal care, and menopause.
She believes in honoring individual differences and making women’s healthcare compassionate, comfortable, and nonjudgmental.
Amy has been married since 1987 and has three teenage daughters.
They attend Woodmen Valley Chapel. She loves to spend time with her family and two dogs, garden, downhill ski, cook, and sew.
