Integrated Behavioral Health

Physical and Behavioral Health

AspenPointe has partnered with Academy Women’s Healthcare to provide integrated behavioral health services.

What Is Integrated Behavioral Health?

Integrated Behavioral Health is a program made available to patients of Academy Women’s Healthcare as part of overall optimal health care.

The purpose of this service is to offer assistance when habits, behaviors, stress, worry, or emotional concerns about physical or other life problems are interfering with daily life.

What Is A Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC)?

The BHC works as part of your medical team. This team approach allows us to consider physical, behavioral, and emotional aspects of your health. We can help you reduce symptoms associated with various chronic medical conditions, or help you cope better with these conditions.

In addition, if you or a family member enrolled with Academy Women’s Healthcare are dealing with more severe mental health issues, we can help you with identifying resources in the community.

What Should I Expect When I See The BHC?

You can expect to be asked specific questions about your physical symptoms, any emotional concerns you are experiencing, your behaviors, and how all of these might be related.

Your appointments will vary in length, from 15-30 minutes in most cases.

Your provided remains in charge of your healthcare. The BHC’s job is to help you and your provider develop and implement the best integrated health care plan for you.

How Do I Schedule An Appointment With One Of The BHC’s?

Let your provider know you are interested in this service.

If you and your provider believe you would benefit from this service, they will ask the BHC to come in on your visit.

What Is The Cost For This?

There is no extra cost for behavioral health consultant services.
